By now you have heard the latest foolishness out of the State House.  

Due to a legislative directive, the Department of Public Health has developed new regulations that could stop bake sales in schools.  It is completely ridiculous and shows how our state government has run amok.

Candidate Calls on Legislature to Override Patrick Administration 

Sandwich—Today Tom Keyes, Republican candidate for State Senate in the Plymouth & Barnstable District, criticized the Patrick administration’s plan to ban bake sales.

“This is government run amok.  As a father I think schools should be allowed to have a bake sale to help the local band or other activities raise money.  We are not going to solve the issue of obesity by banning bake sales,” said Keyes.  “Where has common sense gone?”

Tom Keyes, Republican candidate for State Senate in the Plymouth and Barnstable district issued the following statement regarding the latest EBT card fraud uncovered,

“I am pleased about the bust. However, it proves we have a systemic problem with these EBT cards. It is time for significant reforms that protect our tax dollars from being abused. I support Rep. O’Connell’s effort to reform the system. I agree with her that it is time to end cash benefits and to stop replacing 20,000 lost cards monthly.”
