Plymouth Daily News reports on Tom Keyes, The Plymouth Daily News reported that Senate President Murray received 1,400 fewer votes than Keyes after Tuesday's Primary - Neither Plymouth and Barnstable Senate District candidate faced opponents for their respective party nominations, an interesting development occurred from the votes cast this past Tuesday primary elections. In what looks to be her toughest challenge since 2004, Senate President Terry Murray received 1,400 fewer votes from Democratic Primary voters compared to GOP opponent and former Sandwich Selectman Thomas Keyes.

Whether this is due to an enthusiasm gap between the two parties this year or do to other reasons, according to RedMassGroup.com publisher Rob Eno, this could be a sign of trouble for the Senate President.

Keyes got more votes in every town except Kingston. This includes Murray's hometown of Plymouth where he received a 366 vote margin 2,986 to 2,620. To read Eno’s assessment click here.

But 2010 is a different kind of year. Although Murray, a nine-term incumbent, has displayed a firm grip on her district, her latest challenger, former Sandwich Board of Selectman Chair Thomas Keyes, believes the conditions are ripe for an upset.
